Hard Hitting, Straight Ahead Jazz

Comprised of Longineu Parsons on trumpet, Nat Adderley, Jr., on piano, Jose Serrano on bass, and Longineu Parsons, III, on drums, this band is a one-night course in music appreciation.  Parsons is the protégé of Nat Adderley (he plays Nat’s cornet), and has played with artists ranging from Philly Joe Jones and Nancy Wilson to Sun Ra.  Nat Adderley, Jr., had his first professional songwriting cut at age 11 when (his uncle) Cannonball Adderley included “I’m On My Way” on his 1967 album Why Am I Treated So Bad!  He went on to lead the band of R&B legend Luther Vandross for 25 years and was a writer, arranger, and pianist on some of Vandross’ biggest hits.  Longineu Parsons, III (“LP3”), was a founding member of Yellowcard and has toured with Adam Lambert and New Years Day, and rising star Jose Serrano rounds out the lineup on bass.

What a wonderful world
A Tribute to Louis Armstrong

Celebrating The Music of Louis Armstrong

Louis Armstrong, known the world over as “Satchmo”, is perhaps the most important figure in the history of American music and is certainly one of the most recognizable figures in the world. He wrote many jazz songs that have become standards, and won 11 Grammy Awards as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Longineu Parsons is one of the world’s finest trumpeters and when he interprets Satchmo, he goes far beyond what can be studied and learned. The way he touches the trumpet and growls his vocals is as though he is channeling the great master of American music.

In this spellbinding tribute concert, Longineu Parsons and his band will lovingly perform Louis Armstrong classics such as “Basin St. Blues,” “Hello Dolly,” and, of course, “What A Wonderful World.”

Longineu has electrified audiences with his Satchmo tribute from Europe to South America to Carnegie Hall – and he’ll electrify you too!
